Product Description
KAI Shun Classic DM-0718 – Santoku Knife with Hollow Edge
This Santoku knife from the Shun Classic series supports you with precise cuts and a balanced feel. The blade core made of VG-MAX steel ensures long-lasting sharpness, while the 32 layers of Damascus steel around it make the blade both strong and flexible. The double-sided grind helps you cut vegetables, meat or fish with control and ease.
Comfortable grip for confident cutting
The handle is made of black pakkawood and shaped in the traditional Japanese chestnut form. Resin added to the wood makes it resistant to moisture and wear. The soft edge on the right side of the handle gives you a secure and comfortable grip. The full tang construction adds balance and stability.
Less sticking, smoother slicing
The hollow edge design helps reduce food sticking to the blade, making your work faster and cleaner. With a blade length of 18 centimetres and a weight of 201 grams, this knife fits well in your hand and supports you with every cut.

Tips for the care and storage of knives
- It is best to clean the knife immediately after use with a damp cloth; especially after handling acidic foods, do not leave the knife uncleaned.
- Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents.
- Do not leave knives with wooden handles in water / do not clean them in the dishwasher.
- Stone or ceramic cutting boards damage the knife blades and make them dull.
- Do not store knives loose in drawers; knife blocks, magnetic strips, drawer inserts, magnetic boards or blade attachments are more suitable. Knife cases, knife bags or blade protectors can be used for safe transport.
