Product Description

The Laowa 50mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro Lens (VE5028MFT) is the first 2x life-size magnification manual focus, macro lens, designed specifically for the micro four thirds mount. Optimised for a range of MFT mirror-less cameras including those from Panasonic, Olympus and Blackmagic. Most of the MFT macro lenses in the market can only reproduce 1:1 magnification. But this lens with a 2X magnification offers photographers the advantage of the wider magnification range for different subject size.

An apochromatic (APO) design which helps minimise chromatic aberration at both in focus and out of focus areas. It greatly improves the sharpness, clarity and colour accuracy of images making post editing much simpler.

Equipped with a CPU chip and motor (Auto aperture). The chip-set of the Laowa 50mm Ultra Macro allows you to control the aperture via the camera body. For instance, the focus magnifier would automatically be enabled when turning the focus ring for easier control. Additionally, all the lens data can be recorded by the CPU on EXIF.

Compact and lightweight (just 240g) is an ideal choice for micro and outdoor photography. focal length is equivalent to around 100mm equivalent (97.5mm on 1.5x crop sensor camera), which is a useful focal length for general macro and close up photography, maintaining good camera to subject working distance. Optical construction is 14 Elements in 10 groups, with 3 Extra-Low dispersion glass elements. Minimum focus distance is 17cm (sensor to subject) to give twice life size magnification. Dimensions are 57mm diameter x 100mm length, with convenient, standard filter size of 52mm.
