Product Description
The Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift Lens - CANON EF is an ultra wide angle perspective control shift lens, full frame lens with superb optics and minimal (close to zero) distortion. This is the Canon EF mount version, suitable for Canon EF Digital SLR / DSLR cameras.
The Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift lens is currently the World’s Widest Shift lens for Full Frame cameras. The amount of shift is ±11mm. The lens is perfect for architectural and interior photography. The sky-high buildings can be captured in a corrected perspective easily. The angle of view is 110 degrees, and it produces a huge 65mm diameter image circle at the sensor. It is even wider than the currently widest shift lens from Canon , TS-E 17mm f/4L Tilt-Shift Lens. The wider perspective offers great deal of flexibility for photographers to capture architecture and interior shots when space is limited.
The gigantic image circle means the Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift lens be used on medium format cameras (e.g. Fujifilm GFX / Hasselblad X1D). The max possible shift for full frame cameras vertically is ±11mm for full frame camera and ±8mm for medium format camera. This is also currently the World’s Widest lens covering Fujifilm GFX sensor with minimal vignetting up to +/-8mm shift, and only mild vignetting observed from in 9mm onwards up to +/-11mm.
The Canon 17mm f/4 TS-E is very popular among GFX community and so the Laowa 15mm Shift with wider, less distortion and superior optical performance, sharper, and lower chromatic abberation, so will be an even better option for Fujifilm GFX users.
The Laowa 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift lens is a member of the Laowa Zero-D series, natively offers very low levels of optical distortion for superb performance, ensuring all the straight lines in the image is faithfully retained and reproduced without needing complicated correction via software.
15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift features outstanding image quality, optical construction is composed of 17 elements in 11 groups with 2 aspherical elements. A new lens coating has also been implemented and a significant improvement of chromatic aberration, flaring and ghosting control are obtained.
With an extremely close focusing distance of 20cm together with the Ultra Wide angle perspective allows creative close up photos to be created. 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift is ultra wide shift lens. The 5-bladed aperture creates stunning 10-point Sunstar rendering of pin point light sources, great for night and city scape photography.
360 degrees Rotation
The special rotation function enables photographers to completely change the direction of shift by rotating the shift mechanism. The mechanism can be rotated through 360 degrees. The lens clicks every 15° to help photographers shoot at any angle, including both landscape and portrait orientation.
Optional Lens collar (supplied separately)
An optional lens collar accessory is available for lens support, specially designed for 15mm f/4.5 Zero-D Shift. It is perfect for panorama shooting and avoid parallax error.
