Your efficient partner for photo and video equipment of all kinds
The mantona Fortress series ball heads are the ideal partner for your photo and video equipment. Whether telephoto lens, spotting scope, digital camera, (digital) reflex camera, mirrorless DSLM camera or camcorders and heavy video cameras - the application possibilities of this ball head are versatile. The accuracy of fit and precision of these ball heads enables precise and millimetre-accurate work with both heavy and light equipment such as action cams or smartphones (separate mountings required).
Solid and first-class mechanical basis for secure hold
The Fortress 34 model's maximum payload of 10 kg requires a solid and high-quality base. The Fortress series housing is therefore made of high-strength, CNC-milled aluminium. Minimal manufacturing tolerances and high quality components ensure the exceptionally high load-bearing capacity and impressive smoothness of this ball head.
The black anodized housing has an excellent surface finish. This coating provides an extremely scratch-resistant surface and an attractive appearance. The 34 mm ball of the Fortress 34 is neatly damped and manufactured with extreme precision. In conjunction with the first-class workmanship of the housing and the integrated mechanics, it ensures the very high holding force of this ball head. The annoying sinking of the ball head after locking is thus reduced to a minimum.
Despite the elaborate design, this ball head weighs only 338 g incl. quick-release plate and is therefore a real lightweight in its class.
First-class control element with convincing functionality and feel
The Fortress ball head has a total of 3 control buttons. A rubber coating on the main locking knob ensures a pleasant feel and optimum power transmission. This control element, which is essential for a ball head, has a calibration ring and a friction travel control screw. The mantona Fortress series not only allows the resistance and locking of the built-in ball to be adjusted, but also, as a special feature, the choice of a short or long adjustment path for the locking of the ball head.
With the thumb or the enclosed tool, the friction stroke can be easily and effectively adjusted to the weight of your equipment or to your individual preferences. A long adjustment range ensures particularly sensitive operability. For heavy equipment or particularly fast handling, the friction travel can be reduced or almost completely blocked. This effectively prevents unintentional loosening or tipping of the assembled equipment under high load.
The two control buttons for quick-release plate clamping and the panorama function are made of aluminium and ensure optimum operability and an attractive appearance.
Arca Swiss compatible quick-release plate in XL format and with scale
This ball head has a custom-fit and Arca-Swiss compatible quick-release plate. Since the Fortress series is designed for particularly high load-bearing capacities, the quick-release plate was also designed with a particularly high-quality solution in mind. The quick-release plate of the mantona Fortress 34 ball head with its dimensions of 52 x 44 x 11 mm offers a particularly large contact surface. The wide contact surface means that even large and heavy attachments can be securely attached.
The quick-release plate is equipped with anti-slip rubber and safety pins. This prevents unintentional release from the ball head. The built-in 1/4 inch camera mounting screw can be individually positioned through 3 holes and screwed through the D-ring on the rear side without additional tools.
Perfect adjustment of your recording device on the tripod is particularly important for successful panoramic and video recordings. For perfect alignment of your equipment, an additional scale is attached to the quick-release plate of the Fortress ball heads. In conjunction with the center marking on the quick-release plate clamping system, a millimetre-accurate and fast adjustment of the ball head is thus made into a child's play.
