Product Description

ALPHA 6600 PREMIUM DIGITAL E-MOUNT CAMERA WITH 24.2MP APS-C SENSOR

A Full-Fledged Toolkit For Your Imagination
The α6600 packs in the features, to deliver what you need for just about any situation you encounter – fast AF, steady image stabilisation and stunning image quality, a high-capacity battery and serious 4K HDR (HLG) movie shooting.

FEATURES
Packed full of advanced features, the a6600 adds a new dimension to APS-C camera performance. Phenomenal AF capabilities, rock-solid 5-axis in-body optical image stabilisation and high-resolution 4K HDR (HLG) movie recording - all in all it's a camera you can rely on to truly capture your vision.

GREATER CONTROL OVER WHITE BALANCE SETTINGS
If set in advance, auto white balance can now be locked or unlocked at any time, for more consistent colour tones when there are multiple light sources. Custom setting of white balance has been simplified, and you can now select an AWB priority setting when shooting with incandescent lighting - either warmer Atmosphere Priority, or White Priority for purer whites.

ENHANCED REAL-TIME EYE AF SUPPORTS PORTRAIT SHOOTING
Real-time Eye AF detects and automatically focuses on the eyes of your subject when you half-press the shutter, and you can even prioritise your subject's left or right eye. When AF-C is set, it maintains a stable focus even when the face is partially hidden or backlit, or the subject is facing downwards.

REAL-TIME EYE AF FOR ANIMAL
The technology used in Real-time Eye AF has been adapted to support animal as well as human. When activated, this provides fast automatic detection and tracking of animal's eyes, with precise focus that had been difficult to achieve otherwise, all to give you great pet portraits and wildlife shots.

HIGH SPEED CONTINUOUS SHOOTING WITH AF/AE TRACKING
Capture all the action with continuous shooting at up to 11fps. Even when using silent shutter, or the live-view mode, up to 8fps is possible. Display lag has been minimised, and up to 116 JPEG (Standard) images can be shot in each burst, with group display available in the playback mode.

ONE-TOUCH REMOTE, ONE-TOUCH SHARING, LOCATION INFORMATION LINK
The One-touch remote feature turns your mobile device into a viewfinder and remote control. One-touch sharing allows photos and videos to be transferred to your device for social media sharing. The camera can also use your mobile phone's location data via Bluetooth to geo-tag your images. (These mobile device features are available via Sony's Imaging Edge Mobile app.)

IMAGING EDGE DESKTOP APPLICATIONS
Elevate your photography with the Imaging Edge desktop applications. Use "Remote" to control and monitor shooting live on your PC screen; "Viewer" to quickly preview, rate, and select photos from large image libraries; and "Edit" to develop RAW data into high-quality photos for delivery. Get the best from Sony RAW files, and manage your productions more efficiently.

FOCUS MAGNIFIER FOR FINER FOCUS ADJUSTMENT IN BOTH MF/AF MODES
When extra-accurate focus is called for, such as when you're taking macro shots, you can display a magnified view of the general area you want to focus on, then finely adjust the exact point of focus using the touchscreen or the focus point selector.

EASY MANUAL FOCUS WITH A CLEARLY VISIBLE PEAKING FUNCTION
The camera's peaking function colour-highlights the most sharply focused section of the entire image area when you're using manual focus. Now blue has been added to the display's other peaking colours (red, yellow and white) to improve the visibility of in-focus areas when you're doing the delicate focusing required for macro or portrait shooting.

BUILT-IN 5-AXIS OPTICAL IMAGE STABILISATION
The 5-axis in-body optical image stabilisation mechanism used on our acclaimed full-frame cameras has been adapted for use as a stabilisation unit for the APS-C sensor on this model. This system compensates for camera shake along five different axes - pitch and yaw, horizontal and vertical, and rotational (roll) - to ensure steadier still images and movies during hand-held shooting. A highly accurate gyro sensor provides an image stabilisation effect equivalent to a shutter speed 5 steps faster. The feature allows you to zoom in on far-off subjects, snap detailed close-ups, capture night scenes and more ? all with minimal blur from camera shake.

AN INNOVATIVE IMAGE-PROCESSING SYSTEM
The camera's APS-C size, 24.2-megapixel Exmor CMOS sensor provides a wide sensitivity range and excellent low-noise performance. In conjunction with the latest-generation BIONZ X image processing engine, it delivers beautiful, high-resolution images with superb image clarity and texture reproduction.

EXTRAORDINARY IMAGE QUALITY, LOW NOISE AND A WIDE ISO RANGE
The standard ISO sensitivity range has been extended to ISO 100-32000 (expandable ISO 50-102400 for stills). Improved imaging algorithms, detail reproduction technology and area-division noise reduction result in more realistic textures, better detail in shadow regions, and more lifelike colours, including human skin tones and natural plant colours.

14-BIT RAW OUTPUT WITH RICH TONAL GRADATION
True 14-bit RAW images are delivered via a high-performance LSI and the BIONZ X image processor. To retain the smoothest, most natural tonal gradations, all processing occurs at 16-bit, preventing any dithering or processing errors from being introduced into the final 14-bit RAW image output. CREATIVE MOVIE-MAKING OPTIONS
Interval Shooting with a set interval between 1 and 60 seconds can be performed within the camera and used to create a time-lapse movie on a PC. You can also view the images using a simple variable-speed preview function directly on the camera. Slow motion (up to 5x) and quick motion (up to 60x) can also be recorded directly on the camera with no post-processing required. Also, high-quality slow-motion movies can be created in post-production using high-speed Full HD recording at up to 120fps.

EXTERNAL MIC AND AUDIO INPUT PLUS HEADPHONE JACK
External microphones can be attached via the microphone jack, or use line input via XLR connectors with the separately available XLR adaptor kit. This enables connection with various high-end microphones for professional-level audio. In addition, a headphone jack is available so you can monitor the audio on movies as you record them.

SOPHISTICATED FEATURES FOR EASIER MOVIE-MAKING
The a6600 is ready for professional videography workflows, with clean HDMI output and REC Control, timecode (TC/UB), variable framerates, and proxy recording. In addition, a range of functions are included to enhance movie recording accuracy, such as the display of overlay markers or gridlines, zebra exposure metering, or ISO values when shooting with ISO Auto.

180º-TILTABLE LCD SCREEN WITH VERSATILE TOUCH FUNCTIONS
The high-resolution, 921k-dot LCD has a 3.0-type screen and tilts up a full 180º and down by 74º, for easy framing of selfie shots and vlogs. The LCD's intuitive touch operations include Touch Pad (to smoothly move the focus point), Touch Focus (to set the focus point), Touch Shutter (to release the shutter), and Touch Tracking (to activate Real-Time AF).

HIGH-CAPACITY Z BATTERY FOR LONG-DURATION SHOOTING
To support longer shooting sessions, the a6600 uses the NP-FZ100 high-capacity battery previously introduced with many of our full-frame cameras, while retaining almost the same frontal-view dimensions as previous 6000-series models. Not only does it feature a total capacity around 2.2 times that of our standard battery, it also helps improve the grip ergonomics. The optional Multi Battery Adaptor Kit can accommodate up to four NP-FZ100 batteries for worry-free long-duration movie shooting.

STURDY, DURABLE CONSTRUCTION FOR ROBUST OPERATION
The camera's low-vibration shutter mechanism is designed and tested to withstand around 200,000 shutter cycles, and the body, top cover, front cover, internal frame, and rear cover use a lightweight but highly rigid magnesium alloy. Major buttons and dials are sealed, and casing components have an interlocked double-layer structure to minimise dust and moisture.

IMPROVED ERGONOMIC GRIP
The thickness of the grip of the a6600 has been increased by 6.5mm (compared to the previous model), and the area has been increased by 15%, to make it easier to grasp and hold. The construction material has also been upgraded for a more rigid feel, and the release button attachment angle has been altered for easier operation.

CUSTOM FUNCTIONS FOR GREATER OPERABILITY
Compared to the previous model, the camera has one additional Custom button (C button), bringing the total to four. Now 11 buttons (increased from ten) can be custom-assigned to any of 91 shooting or replay functions. Frequently used functions can also be assigned to the control dial and control wheel with My Dial. My Menu allows flexible assignment of 30 menu items, and the custom settings screen helps keep track of everything. Helpful guides for menu items are also available with a single button press on the menu screen.

PRIORITISED DISPLAY OF AF AREA AND ISO DISPLAY LIMIT
On the AF area-setting screen, a new feature enables display of only the focus area types that you use frequently. Another new feature on the ISO setting screen displays only frequently used ISO ranges. This allows for more efficient settings adjustment while shooting. These features can also be used when "Switch Focus Area" is assigned to a Custom button.
